First and foremost, I’d like to express our sincere sympathy to all the people around the world who have been affected by the coronavirus.
We sincerely wish for the speedy recovery of those afflicted, and we hope for an end to the pandemic as soon as possible. Moreover, we would like to take this opportunity to express our sincere gratitude to the healthcare.
On this day last year we held the 2nd edition of TechKnowKids (TKK), TKK is our annual (Corporate Social Responsibility) training and competition for kids (between the ages of 8-14). These kids are from various secondary schools and are considered the best.
The goal of TKK is to inspire the kids to work together as a team, think creatively and build innovative solutions using some skills such as basic computing and coding skills.
TKK is a day 3 event
On the first-day speakers from various sectors explain how technology is tremendously shaping how they work in an easy and effective way. The theme for 2019 was “ways to apply technological tools and concepts in STEM to real-world problems.”
On the second day -hands-on training (basic computing, programming, and animation).
The last day – the competition
Last year we had 10 schools both private and public (Temlad Imani School, Plus International School, Himma International School, Galaxy International School, Father ‘O’ Connell Science College, Bosso Secondary School, Army Day Secondary School, Government Girls Secondary School, Redeemers International School, Kiddies Palace Academy,)
The winner went home with a laptop. All contestants went home with consolation prizes.
We appreciate our previous sponsors Lusaworks Nig Ltd, MBS Aminato Investment. We look forward to reaching out to many more secondary schools across Nigeria and equally welcome more partners to work with us on.
Unfortunately, this year, we have to suspend TKK 2020 due to the COVID-19 pandemic which has so many uncertainties. We had to make this decision to protect the health of our community, and without violating the law.
However, TKK Extension which is an arm of TKK where kids learn basic computing and programming skills for as low as N1,000 weekly is open for registration.
We are proactively taking measures to prevent the spread of the virus, hence your kid is safe with us. We will be glad to see your kid at our Academy. Take a deep dive into our academy www.academy.jdlab.ng
